This small selection of images span a broad range of subjects, but many are motivated by an interest in social and economic topographies and how these can be depicted visually.

The Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and Yaffo series were taken over four trips to the Middle East between 2008 and 2011.

The landscapes are traditional and largely pictorial.

The portrait series were either shot in studio or on location. Many of these were taken at the New Mexico Expo (State Fair) in 2009 through 2011 as part of the on-going New Mexico Portrait Project to document the people of New Mexico.

The Occupy Santa Fe series was taken during the recent Occupy Santa Fe demonstration on October 15, 2011.

The rural places series brings together images of places past and, like the landscape series, are more traditional and pictorial. These and the landscape images could be categorized as "social" or "vacant" landscapes (to use more modern labels), but I doubt that either label would be any more descriptive.

The urban places series emphasizes people in an urban setting. The murals in Derry and Belfast tell outsiders about the "Troubles" but also give residents a sense of identity and history that transcends the day-to-day functionality of the structures used to canvas these murals. Some of these images, such as that of the gentleman sitting in the chair at Gallery Place (Washington, DC) are emblematic of my interest in both transition and sense of place. The place where the man sits no longer exists, perhaps victim of eminent domain.

The art reproduction series illustrates recent work in photographing art work.
